Divide RM60 by 4 And You’ll Get…

Hope that the others won’t kill me for posting this late…. *twiddling fingers*

*9th June, 2007*

It was a surprise for me that day, really. The day when my cherished floggers came all the way from Klang (Jackson) and PJ (Precious Pea and WMW to drag me out for dinner despite the heavy drizzle. *sniff sniff, blow nose*

After much discussion between us in Jackson’s new car, we headed to Yulek, Cheras for our first stop as Precious Pea had never come to this area before. There’s a row of hawker stalls operating every night. According to WMW, the chee cheong fun is good (she’s a CCF fan) and the tong sui is not bad too. But the CCF stall was closed….

For sharing: Sweet Soup with Dried Lotus Seeds. Pretty ordinary.

Another tong suifor sharing, the Peanut Cream. Love it as I’m crazy about peanuts but not sweet enough for my liking.

*Other pics which include char siew bao, prawn mee, steamed chicken glutinuous rice, fried lala, char koay teow were too dark to be posted here… Sorry! Do jump to the links above for the pics. Thank you!*

After our random “attack”, we crossed the street to have our CCF fix. Selling the similar version of CCF with the stall that was close that night, the San Yulik Restaurant is just across the street.

For someone like me who came from outside of KL, this is the first time I see such version of CCF. We were actually spoiled for choice with all sort of accompaniments such as fish balls, deep fried fish balls, fu chok (beancurd sheet), crabsticks, pork meat balls, stuffed chillies and others. Pick whatever you want, and give it to the girls.

CCF with curry gravy. The four of us don’t like it, especially WMW. The gravy was way too creamy, it gave us a chill in the spines….

The usual CCT with brown gravy and sweet sauce fares much better. We eventually finish up the whole plate in minutes but WMW claimed that the stall opposite there serves better CCF.

By the time we finish the CCT, the night was still young and we decided to go for drinks. I suggest them to go to Station 1 at Taman Pertama, Cheras. (There’s another branch opposite Leisure Mall too).

Our target for the night was RM15 per person, so we plan carefully what to have in order not to overspent. 😛 Blackcurrant and Apple juice with aloe vera bits.

Cocktail sausages.

Deep fried beancurd sheet with fish roll. Tastes like those served in Penang Lobak.

And finally, french fries. And that makes up we actually spent less than RM15 per person for the whole night outing!

And as usual, the talkative us chat the night away with topic such as Ipoh foodcrawl (in planning stage), Nigel’s Just Heavenly official opening on 23rd June, girls, Daniel Henney, and our plan to conquer other eating places such as Penang, Malacca and perhaps, countries such as Taiwan, Hong Kong and Japan in the future! Hahahah…. it might sounded like we’re dreaming now but who knows, it might become a reality?

  1. That was a fun outing…we should do more of these. Oh, and if we go to Cheras again, remember to extend an invitation to the Cheras floggers! ;o)

  2. I like the peanut tong sui… that’s my favourate!! I actually got to know this tong sui in Ipoh… and hardly can find this in Penang. I wonder why? Or only Cantonese knows how to make good tong sui?? Hmmmm…

  3. WMW: Yeah, we should do more foodcrawl like this. Haha… will do that, the more the merrier!

NKOTB: Huh can’t find peanut tong sui in Penang? How about those instant one? Got sell in supermarket?
