Told ya this is another eating spree post… 😛
This is a belated post, 6 May. Sunday… Up early as I’m going to watch Spiderman 3 at TGV at 11.45am. Cineplex is full to the first row of seats! It was a nice movie. Like the cool black Spiderman/Venom suit but somehow, Tobey Maguire doesn’t really fit to play the dark side.
After the movie, the five of us decided to go for lunch at town area but having a hard time to decide what to eat. After much discussion (it’s more like an argument, actually), we’re landed at:
The interior is dimly lit and I’m having a difficult situation to take photos without attracting much attention….
Sat down and another problem arise: What to order?? You see, it’s human nature to flip and scan the menu few times, ask the one beside you “What are you gonna order?” and glance at the menu again before placing the order. Pic above: Cream of mushroom soup with bread. Nothing special about the soup but the bread is fluffy, soft, warm and a bit sweetish taste. Lurve the bread.
Since it’s really dark in there, I decided to on the flash while they sit closer to block the excessive flash from reaching the customers behind us (so sweet of them :P). Fried Rice with Turmeric Chicken. Only bite-size turmeric marinated chicken strips are given though… Can’t taste any turmeric.
Ikan Bilis (Anchovies) Fried Rice. This is ok, with generous amount of crucnhy anchovies and really fresh lettuce.
Salted Fish Fried Rice, minus the salted fish…. What the heck, I felt like cheated but my friend insist that it’s ok for him. Well, that’s not my dish by the way….
The other two had the BBQ chicken chop, didn’t take the pictures. Dessert turns out to be 1 scoop of ice cream. Don’t like the yam flavoured ice cream, the colouring is scary…. So, that’s our lunch, nothing special I would say. Total damage was RM48.83 include service charge for 5 person which is… Cheap 🙂

Friend … it’s so nice to reminisce the old time. Love your article. Nowadays in KL, very hard to find old school joints like these anymore. Being closed down to make way for modern cafe and bistros. Keep recording these memories.

Lolz, wmw you’re so funny. We always come to eat here whenever i visit my fren at ipoh. She just like the food there, and as far as i remember they have quite decent western food beside the fried rice.
Wahh…fried rice feast!! I like my fried rice with lots of char siu and chinese sausages! Oh yah..that reminds me to blog about the Soft Shell Crab Fried Rice i had last week…let me dig out the picture first.

ya know, I never been to the 3 places (Fantasy, Kopitiam Junction and Ice Ice Baby) even I was in Ipoh all these while. I can’t believe it myself!
