*Sorry readers, Left Shore Café has closed down for good.
There’s one eatery I wanna try for some time but I’m getting tired of taking pics with my phone. So, when I got my camera yesterday, I immediately called my ex-schoolmate, Ken for lunch today.
Situated in between the bustling Anderson Road (Jalan Raja Musa Aziz) and Jalan Raja Ekram, is the nostalgic Jalan Lau Ek Ching. This street used to be a residential area when I was still little but now it has been transformed into offices, boutique and saloon. The architectural design of most buildings here are preserved and beautified, thus strolling along the street really recalls back some of my childhood memories.
Our target for today, Left Shore Café.
The dining area is not very spacious, just able to accomodate 5-7 tables, including the section with sofas. But it has a soft, cozy and serene atmosphere which makes a great gathering place with loved ones or with friends. When we sat down, they just happen to played the song “Desert Rose” by Sting – one of my favourite!
After few minutes browsing their menu, here’s our order:
Pineapple PRU – RM7.90. It’s some kind of yogurt blended drink. Refreshing but can’t really taste any pineapple in there.
Yada Pina Colada – RM5.90. Squeezed lime and lemon juice with a dash of grenadine syrup. Ken commented that it’s just nice, not too sweet and not too sour.
Cream of Cauliflower soup – RM4.20. Tastes wise with generous amount of croutons.
Breaded Chicken with Mustard Dressing and Herb Rice – RM13.90. This is our best dish for the day. They use the breadcrumbs for fish ‘n chip to coat the chicken for crunchier texture and the meat is tender and juicy. The dressing goes well with the meat and the herb rice is simply better than Secret Recipe. Two thumbs up!
Farmhouse Pizza – RM13.90. Ah.. a bit disappointed with this since the waitress kept recommending their pizzas. The crust is nice but the toppings given are little. More cheese than toppings. Hmm…
Tiramisu Cup – RM5.90. Tastes just fine, certainly not the best tiramisu I ever had but with the price, I think it’s ok.
Our bill came to RM51.70, no service and extra government charge! The service is good and fast, I don’t mind to split my wallet for some tips. Certainly will come again.
