Meng Kee Steam Soup @ Taman Paramount, PJ

So, we were brought to Paramount Garden and ended up at Meng Kee Steam Soup stall, in front of Giant Supermarket. George’s friend claimed that this stall’s steam soup is among the best he ever tasted in KL and PJ.

The menu. The left side are lists of soups, right side are the side dishes. We arrived at around 9pm but all soups are already sold out, except two! Wow, their soups must be very good till it’s almost sold out at such time (or cos KL ppl tend to have their dinner early?). Only ‘Pau Sum Chicken’ soup and ABC (Potato & tomato) soup are still available.

‘Pau Sum’ Chicken Soup, RM 16. The soup indeed is very good, very much like mom’s secret recipe. You can really taste the sweetness of the chicken’s essence and the aromatic ‘pau sum’ in every scoops.

Tomato & potato (ABC) with chicken feet soup. This one is also very good and priced at RM 5, they’re quite generous with the carrots and potatoes.

Side order, steamed white beancurd, RM 3. Nothing to comment about, just ok.

Steamed Minced Pork with Salted Fish, RM 5. I didn’t try it, but the other say it’s not very good.

‘Sang choy’ (iceberg cabbage) with oyster sauce, RM 4. Tastes ok.

Overall, I only like their soups. There are more varieties of soup you can choose from (provided if you come earlier, of course) such as Yellow Cucumber with Pork Ribs soup – RM 4, Pepper Pig Stomach with Onion – RM 4, ‘Lin Ngau’ (Lotus Root) with Pork Ribs and Groundnuts soup – RM 4.50, ‘Yong Sum Soo’ Chicken soup – RM 5, Herbal Duck soup – RM 5, ‘Hor Sau Woo’ with Pork soup – RM 5 and etc.
