Bangkok Trip 19th-23rd January 07 (Day 4 & 5)

(Day 4) Today we’re going to visit some shopping centres. I skipped my breakfast cos lazy to get up early… that means I’ll eat outside 🙂
Saw an aunty preparing noodle at Silom street and decided to give it a try.

Yeah, Fish Ball Kuey Teow Soup with minced pork! They use the thick kuey teow for the noodle but it’s tender and soft. So good, I finished the soup as well!

Chilli sauce.

At first, we thought this is chrysanthemum tea or some kind of “leong sui” (herbal tea) but it turns out to be iced chinese tea!

After breakfast, we took the BTS (skytrain) to Siam Paragon. It feels a bit like KLCC here.

Lobby with ‘mirror waterfall’.

The mischevious duo.

Lazy to move after meal… asked a tourist to help us 😛

Lamborghini in da mall! Too bad it’s closed…

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Ferrari in da mall as well!

Lego model of the Suvarnabhumi Airport.

At level 5 (if I’m not mistaken), is the cineplex. Photo shows the way to the entrance.

Paragon Cineplex. So luxury… can see those red colour couch?

Hmm… our GSC at MidValley & TGV at KLCC are no match with this la…

Hungry again… Kevin say MBK Centre have a new food court so we decided to go there. Just a distance walk from Siam Paragon.

But before that, snap some photo first!

Here it is, the new food court. It’s called The Fifth, International Cuisine Food Court. When you enter, the friendly and polite staff will pass a card to you which is used to purchase your food inside, similar like Marché at Singapore. All the food you purchased will be recorded into the card and you’re required to pay at the exit when leaving.

My Chicken Briyani Rice. Looks little in the big plate but it’s quite a big portion actually and costs 130 Baht. Tasted ok but seems like they used curry powder for the colouring…

“Pad Thai” (if I’m not mistaken), Siamese rojak. Priced at 65 Baht, it consist of chicken meat, crackers (like those used in Yee Sang), bean sprouts, dried shrimps, bean curd, grounded peanuts and lime juice. The presentation and taste like our local Pasembor Rojak. Not very nice cos of the strong dried shrimps smell.

Fried Pork with special dipping sauce. Similar like the one we had at BUA the first night but thicker. BUA’s certainly better than this. The sauce is good but the meat is not. 80 Baht.

Vietnamese Fresh Spring Rolls. We ordered two types, the fresh and fried. This one is not good also! Tastes bland. 70 Baht. The fried one is certainly better than this.
So, we learned our lesson – better to dine at roadside or small shops rather than luxury establishments like this.

We went back to Siam Paragon cos wanna enter their Ocean World.

Siam Ocean World, go down one level from Siam Paragon’s food court. Entrance fee – 450 Baht per person. We arrived late to watch the staff feeding the sharks 😦

Giant Spider Crab! As big as a 2 year old child.

Poor Jason trapped inside the igloo 😛

I’ve skipped many pics on the fishes cos most are blur… That night we had same kuey teow, grilled pork, chicken wings, fried rice etc as dinner… Darn tired to look for nice place to eat, so no need to post those la.

(Day 5) We’re leaving lo this afternoon.. aww… Skipped hotel’s breakfast and planned to eat at airport. We reached airport quite early and there’s already a long queue at the check-in counter! The staff were slow… duh… and we quickly look for things to eat after we got our boarding passes. Saw this at upper level:

Tate Café. Interior’s not bad but some of the offered meals are not available.

There’s an array of desserts and cakes available, however. This is tiramisu in the cup. The bottom part of the dessert (or should I call it cake?) is watery and tastes like coffee. Strange?

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Chocolate Moist Cake. Very good. Only comment is – too sweet! The others only took a few scoops and asked me to finished it… ahaha.

Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting
Green Curry Spaghetti. This is the best among our orders but a bit too spicy for me.

Café’s interior.

Ahhh…. I miss Bangkok! Don’t feel like wanna come back 😦

Okay, I’m back anyway…. uuuu… stayed one night at KL before going back to Ipoh. That night, George’s friend recommend us a place for dinner and brought us to Paramount Garden 😀
