As there were only 30 minutes allocated for each venue, we then adjourned to Bar Madrid, located opposite Brussels bar. Talking about multi-tasking (snap food, snap location, eat, be introduced to the food), all within half an hour per venue! Anyway, as the name implies, Bar Madrid is a small pub cum eatery; a place to unwind to Spanish melodies and Sangria. Best sellers include Baby back pork ribs, pork sandwich and a variety of Spanish tapas.
We had three types of tapas that night; the first one was Jamon Serrano Croquetas (RM 15.90), which was mini fried potato balls with cured Serrano ham filling, and a light, cheesy sauce. Although the taste of cheese wasn’t very strong, but if you’re not a fan of cheese, you might want to stay away from this. The lightly breaded crust crumble rather easily and exposed the piping hot filling inside. Yummy stuff.
Spanish omelette, also known as the Tortilla Espanola (RM 9) was filled with ham and cheese, encased in thick layers of omelette. The centre was still a little bit runny when served, while the texture was smooth and dense.
Out of the three, I like this the most. Iberico Confitado (RM 17.90), slow cooked Iberico pork in red wine reduction on baguette. The shredded pork cuts were amazingly tender, very flavourful and juicy. We enjoyed this to the very last piece.
