DU Project – Puzzini Pizza

Situated at the same row of shophouses with PappaRich, Sony Ericsson and opposite RHB Bank, this small pizza shop with bright yellow signage often got missed out from the usual lunch crowd. We were there one afternoon for lunch and by the time we’re done, the tables weren’t even fully occupied.

The place was a bit rundown; rustic metal chairs, black and white checkered walls and you can really see the partition that separates the dining hall and kitchen was really old. We were served with complimentary warm bun and non-chilled butter as starter – the buns were soft and fluffy. Other than serving Swedish pizza, they also have pasta, soups and other meat dishes. Set lunch runs from 11.00am till 2.45pm. Priced at RM 12.80, you get soup of the day, ice lemon tea and one mains (choose from personal size pizza, pasta or meat dishes). Check out their other Swedish stuff such as Smögen (pizza with salmon, paprika, broccoli and sour creamy sauce), Semla, Swedish meatballs (Köttbullar) and Kalops (beef stew with carrots, onions and black peppercorn, served with boiled potato).

You can choose for beef or chicken for the bolognese sauce; Amy chose the latter and was happy with her choice. The Black Pepper Steak (chicken) was very tender and juicy. The chicken fillet was first coated with black pepper and then pan fried and served with coleslaw, potato wedges and mushroom gravy. I had this pasta with the name Dr. Ling and Dato Jamil, which is spaghetti and tuna in extra virgin olive oil, onion and chili (no picture – all shots of the spaghetti were blur). Since canned tuna has a rather fishy taste, non-fish lover might want to skip this.

We all love their Puzzini Pizza (RM 19 for regular size) – minced chicken, capsicum, mushrooms, onion, tomatoes and herbs, all on a thin and crispy pizza crust. The three girls happily helped themselves with the pizza after their mains as they claimed that the pizza was light and not as thick as others, therefore they could enjoy it without worries.

4 set lunch (RM 12.80 each) and one regular pizza came up to RM 70.20 for four. No service charge for dine in and RM 2.00 extra charges for delivery service.
