Answers to Song Meme

Alright, let me reveal the names of the songs in my previous Song Meme post. So far, only Christy got the most correct answers!

Song 1
Late night club like a video with the hot stuff, top stuff, we got stuff (male group)
*Soo Yin, Teckiee and Christy got the correct answer, it’s Fly By from the US male group, Blue. It makes me feel like wanna party everytime I listen to it.

Song 2
I just wanna hold you close but so far (female)
Christy got it correct again. Dreaming of You – Selena.

Song 3
If I ask, would you say yes? (male group)
Everyday I Love You – Boyzone. This was their last song before the group disbanded. *clap clap to Soo Yin, Mei Yen and Christy*

Song 4
And all you can do is wait for that day when they will care (female)
One of WMW’s favourite song. Have You Ever? by Brandy. Meaningful lyrics.

Song 5
Your breath is just a sea mist surrounding my body (group)
Christy got it right again! One of my favourite song from The Corrs, Only When I Sleep.

Song 6
Baby, don’t waste your time. I know what’s on your mind (male)
Teckiee, your description is quite accurate. I think I sang this during our previous karaoke session at RedBox. The correct answer is I Could Never Take The Place Of Your Man by Jordan Knight. Not Goo Goo Dolls. 🙂

Song 7
Girl you need to understand, your heart’s safe within my hands (male group)
Christy rocks again! I purposely choose a not-so-popular track but you got it correct. Yeap, it’s For The Girl Who Has Everything, N Sync.

Song 8
Did you think you could walk back in my life? (female)
*Another points for Christy*. I Learned From The Best – Whitney Houston.

Song 9
Don’t be afraid if you got something to say (male)
Christy, you’re late! It’s Stay The Same from Joey McIntyre!

Song 10
You were my first love, you were my true love, from the first kisses to the very last rose (female)
I guess the lyric is revealed the name. Cheers to Soo Yin, Mei Yen and Christy. Teckiee… mana nama?? :p

Song 11
Where the fields are green, to see him once again (male group)
Mei Yen and Christy got it right. My Love by Westlife.

Song 12
Touch him with the gentleness you feel inside (female)
Teckiee correct half 😛 (no song name!). Tell Him, Celine Dion duet with Barbara Streisand.

Song 13
You came and breathe new life into this lonely heart of mine (male)
Points for Soo Yin and Christy again. Back At One, Brian McKnight.

Song 14
If only you could see the tears in the world you left behind (male group)
One of my all time favourite, Soledad by Westlife. Soledad means “solitude” in Spanish but they refer that as a girl’s name.

Song 15
And then I go and spoil it all by saying something stupid like I love you (duet)
This is pretty obvious. Soo Yin, Teckiee and Christy got it correct. Something Stupid, Robbie Williams duet with Nicole Kidman. She has good voice but what a kinky music video!

Song 16
I have learned there’s an inner peace I own (female)
Christy again! Can’t Take That Away, Mariah Carey which also known as Mariah’s Theme. Meaningful lyric.

Song 17
Un-cry these tears, I’ve cried for so many nights (female)
Kudos to Teckiee and Christy. Unbreak My Heart – Toni Braxton.

Song 18
You rock my world, the way you talk to me (male)
A song suitable for party! You Rock My World by Michael Jackson.

Song 19
Now I know we can revive it, all the love we left (male group)
Only Christy got the answer. Everytime, by UK band, A1.

Song 20
I’m sorry that you, seem to be confused, he belongs to me (duet)
Last one. Nah, I’m not gonna compete with you girls (LOL). The Boy Is Mine – Brandy duet with Monica. For some time, I always thought that the two of them looked alike.

Thanks for taking part, girls!

3. 5.30pm – Italian Affair

From Spanish food, we hop to Opus Bistro for some romantic Italian style dining. The word “Opus” means opuses or opera, which also indicates an artistic work.

Even their food were an art work themselves! The mini Carbonara Pasta (spaghetti with smoked beef in cheesy, creamy white sauce and a touch of black pepper) looked too cute to be eaten. Anyway, we love it as it’s not overly creamy like some pasta you could find at the other cafés outside. Jackson and Lianne requested for a substitue version for the beef as they can’t take beef and the waiter immediately change for them without hesitation. The chef replace their beef with smoked duck breast – lovely.

We were then presented with their all time favourite dish, Roasted Cod Fish with Lemon Capers Sauce. The fish fillet was firm and fresh, slightly crispy at the outside but juicy at the inside. The sauce however, tastes rather similar like the usual tartar sauce.

Some white wine to accompany our fine meal.

Last but not least, a traditional Italian aperitif, the Lemoncello. I’m not really a drinker so I found that this is albeit too strong for me.

We hopped over to Wine Cellar for a short, brief tour. Wine Cellar in fact, is a wine connoisseur who supplied the wines to the restaurants in Jalan Bangkung such as Cava and Opus, as well as to other places too. And they have just expanded to a newly furnished area upstairs, perfect to spend a cosy little evening with colleagues or friends.

I will say that the collection of wines here are much extensive than Denise.

5. 6.30pm – La Dolce Vita! The Attic and Just Heavenly

Finally, our last stop for the day. Some of us came here before during the floggers’ gathering last April. The Attic – KL’s only Gallery Bar Lounge and also a non-smoking bar (yay!)

Their signature drink which resembles the mini tiramisu in the cup. I didn’t try it as I’m starting to get “heat up” after the wines at Opus and Sangria at Cava. I’m not a good drinker anyway. 🙂

And new range of desserts from Just Heavenly! (clockwise from top right) Chilled Lemon Cheesecake, Raspberry Madeira and Mango Upside Down. We were so in love with them especially the Mango Upside Down which came with caramelised mango chunks. One word. Heaven.

When I received an invitation email from Nigel to join MAX privilege card for free, I wasn’t really paying attention to the content of the email. So on the night when we celebrate Jackson’s birthday at Kelana Jaya, I was told that MAX will be having a special treat for cardholders and floggers, a scrumptious indulgence at KL’s best kept secret – the boutique boulevard of Jalan Bangkung, Bangsar on 25th of August.

WMW helped me to register my name for the event (thanks and plenty of kisses, sister!).

Our agenda for the day:

1. 4.30pm – Fit For 2

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
When I first heard the name, I thought it’s too weird for a café or restaurant to be named like that. Heck, I was half right after all. Fit For 2 is a health centre for mommy and babies, as well as mommy-to-be and consists of a small café. (Yes, you heard me right, babies need exercise too!) It is run by the same owner of Bisou, thus that explain the cupcakes that were served that day.

Pretty little cupcakes which are rapidly gaining their popularity among the residents of KL. The orangy colour ones are orange-vanilla with strawberry cream frosting, brown – peanut butter and chocolate. I didn’t try the peanut butter but the chocolate cupcake did tastes a little too sweet for me. The orange-vanilla strawberry one is not bad, tangy, buttery flavour with a tinge of sweetish aftertaste.

Chocolate brownies with cute pink icing flower piping. No complaint on this.

Tuna sandwich. Although the tuna spread was just nothing ordinary, taste pretty much the same as canned tuna spread, I like the texture and softness of their bread. They’re thicker than usual bread and I feel that as if I’m having sponge cake instead of bread. We also had chicken sandwich and smoked salmon bagels.

Lastly, we had the small serving of creamy pumpkin soup. Tastes kinda weird, probably cos I don’t fancy pumpkin.

2. 5.00pm – Spanish Fiesta @ Cava

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
We adjourned to Cava Restaurant and Bar next. Cava takes the name Spanish Denominacion de Origen (the geographical origin of a wine)… Cava, where sparkling wine is produced in the similar method as champagne. Cava also means “cellar” in Catalan.

We were served with their famous Sangria, a type of Spanish cocktail and an array of Spanish dishes ala buffet style.

Prawn Pil-Pil, prawns cooked with tomato based sauce.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Sauteed Baby Octopus, with tomato based sauce too.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Spanish Lamb Boulette. Teckiee and Jackson love it.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Cauteed Black Pepper Beef. Very tender and well marinated beef chunks in black pepper sauce. Me likes.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Spanish Omelette. Don’t quite like it since they’re served cold. It resembles our local kuih.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Patata Bravas. Again, baked potatoes in tomato sauce. Silly me thought that they’re some kind of deep fried meat balls.

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket
Paella Mariscos or Seafood Paella. Just look at the amount of prawns, mussels and mushrooms laid on it! Now this is my first time sampling paella and it turns out a bit disappointed. The paella is too wet for my liking. Is paella supposed to be like this?
