It’s Ramadhan again and in less than 3 weeks, the Muslims will be celebrating Hari Raya. During this one month period, many hotels and restaurants will be having Ramadhan buffet promotion for buka puasa, and Pick n’ Brew is one of them.
I was one hour late due to the traffic congestion so the buffet has already started by the time I reached.
Some appetizers to perk up your appetite:

Something similar to Acar, minus the peanut sauce. Made of cucumber, carrot, pineapple and red chillies, it is slighty sourish in taste with crunchy texture.

An interesting combination of apple and barley salad with potatoes, this is rather refreshing. Good for digestion too.

Precious Pea love the Tomato and Basil Salad the most. There are another few varieties of salad available including the Sweet Potato and Chicken Salad (which I didn’t post as it turns out to be too dark) and also soup of the day.

Different varieties of chafing dishes were available on different days such as (clockwise from top left) Sambal Sotong Berkacang, Roast Chicken Forestier, Seafood Tomato Rice and Breaded Beef. The Tomato Rice was good as it’s infused with seafood flavour. Pair it with the sambal sotong – heavenly!

Assorted of crackers to go with the gado-gado, a type of Indonesian salad, ulam (raw vegetables), salted eggs and beef kerabu. I particularly love the spicy peanut sauce to go with the gado-gado and crackers. Behind this counter, you could get Laksa Johor (the only laksa that is cooked using spaghetti!) and also some grilled seafood cooked on the spot by the staff.

If there’s more spaces in your stomach, it’s time for desserts! The Cucur Badak is particularly nice with a slightly spicy dried shrimp and coconut filling, encased by the sweet potato dough which is a little too thick in my opinion.

Some of the cakes selection. If you’re wondering, yes, the popular Apple Crumble Cheesecake is available too in smaller bite size. Good for those who worries that they can’t finish one whole slice of it.

The Kuih Ketayap is also good with a smoother texture of the skin (those I usually saw are with coarse skin texture) and fragrant coconut filling. There are another few items I didn’t photograph such as the steamed Kuih Talam (also known as Kuih Seri Muka) with two layers of white pulut below and pandan above it, Pineapple cookies which was lovely with buttery crust, Malay doughnuts, my favourite onde-onde, sweet soup of the day and even chocolate fondue with marshmallows and fruits!
