‘Lolo’, Anyone?

Chinese New Year celebration will end in one week time and I guess most people are already back to work. Hope everyone had a great celebration.

I used to go to ‘pasar malam’ aka night market with a bunch of friends on Thursday. These pictures were taken a week before CNY (pardon the picture quality as they were taken using my camera phone) and we saw a new stall, selling ‘lolo’, some kind of dessert similar like ice kacang or cendol but the texture of the shaved ice is smoother. And of course, more expensive too.

It’s hard to find ‘lolo’ in Ipoh. There’s one hawker stall at Tong Sui Kai selling but everytime we wanna have it, it’s closed. So, when my friends saw this stall, they quickly place their order.

The business is quite good as there are many people waiting for their order to be prepared. But you can see, the preparation table is a bit messy, though….

Finally, Kai Ching’s Yam Lolo topped with plenty of green jellies and costs about RM3.00. His comment? Refreshing! I didn’t try it myself as I’m quite full that night *sob*

Ppl are getting more and more creative with desserts, aren’t they? I don’t think I’ve tried lolo before (I’m quite “ulu”), but the yam lolo looks good.

Yeah, aren’t that good? We can feast our eyes and mouth as well lol. Lolo is quite good actually, just that it’s a bit pricey.

OOo…we got one famous dessert chain in KL called KTZ (Kei Dak Zik) which serves lolo. My fav is the Kiwi-lo..sour yet refreshing but not cheap though..definately over RM4.

Ooo… where’s that?? I never see it b4 when I went to KL. I like honeydew lolo :P

SS2, Kepong, KL…few branches and next time you come to KL, give me a call.

Alright! Btw, do they serve other types of dessert? Or they just specialise in dessert?
